Dr Gerry Scullin

As I am in my final year of training, I have experience of working in multiple areas in the West of Scotland. I hope I can use these experiences, both positive and negative, to support other psychiatry resident doctors. I hope to better understand current issues with core resident doctors in Scotland, particularly regarding retention and factors contributing to burnout. 

I am an ST6 in Forensic Psychiatry and Co- Chair of the European Federation of Psychiatric Trainees Forensic Working Group. I strongly believe in a collaborative approach, both clinically and professionally. We can learn so much from our colleagues locally and beyond, to improve our professional development and ultimately deliver the best care for our patients.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my friends, family and dog. I also do Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, in which I met a surprising number of other psychiatry residents doctors!
