Dr Jacqui Dyer MBE

Director, Black Thrive Global

Dr Jacqui Dyer MBE is an independent health and social care consultant, and brings her own lived experience to all of her roles.  

Jacqui was vice chair of England's Mental Health Taskforce, which collaboratively developed the 5 Year Forward View for Mental Health (NHSE) and its transformation of mental health service policy and provision. Its focus on reducing mental health inequalities was further strengthened in the NHS Long Term Plan for Mental Health. 

As NHS England’s Mental Health Equalities Advisor Jacqui chairs the NHSE Advancing Mental Health Equalities Taskforce and the Patient & Carer Race Equality Framework (PCREF) Steering Group, which led the coproduction of the first NHS anti-racism framework (PCREF) published on 30 October 2023. This framework is mandatory for all mental health service provision in England from April 2024. 
 
Jacqui is an elected Lambeth Councillor and is cabinet member for inclusive economy and equalities. Jacqui is co-founder and chair of Lambeth’s Black Thrive Partnership which takes a collective impact approach to improving the mental health and wellbeing of its Black Caribbean and African citizens through addressing systemic inequities and structural racism.  

Jacqui is a director of Black Thrive Global, a social enterprise, which has evolved from the partnership to take forward its legacy. The focus of BTG is to build race equity into systems change through elevating the insights of Black communities to tackle anti-Black racism.  

Jacqui was a member of the Health Act Review (MHAR) and co-chair of its African & Caribbean Working Group (MHARAC). She is also the President of the Mental Health Foundation UK.
