SOLD OUT: Private and Independent Practice SIG Winter Conference | Building a Portfolio Career

Event Information

This conference is aimed at consultants, SAS doctors, and senior trainees interested in building a portfolio career.

There has never been so much interest in the ways in which to diversify your career. More and more, psychiatrists are looking beyond ‘the norm’ and pursuing a different route. Some are pushed into additional work due to a need to ‘escape the day job’ and the fear of burnout, or pulled to pursue an interest not available within their usual organisation. Yet more are driven by financial or caring commitments and others by a wish to stay in the workforce, but more on their own terms, perhaps when nearing retirement. Those interested in a portfolio career are a wide and varied bunch.

How to start can be daunting and what area to explore can be difficult, there are so many opportunities to consider when thinking creatively.

Whether keen on mental health act work, medico legal work, developing your therapeutic skills, or doing some independent clinical work, right up to being an innovative entrepreneur, there is something for you in this conference to take your next steps with confidence.
