Event Information

Join us for SEPSIG17 on Wednesday 19 March 2-5pm for our first international virtual conference where we will have a talk on elite athlete mental health and a talk on safe promotion of physical activity in clinical settings.

Full programme to follow, but our speakers so far include:

  • Caz Nahman - SEPSIG Chair introducing the event with a summary about what we know about safeguarding and mental health
  • Kirsty Burrows - Head of Safe Sport at the IOC talking about harassment and abuse and athletes and social media
  • Ieuan Watkins - Head of Safeguarding UK talking about social media and safeguarding risks
  • Donald GIllies - Head of Women and Girl's Programme at Glasgow Rangers talking about an intervention to manage social media in their athletes
  • Alan Currie - NHS Consultant Psychiatrist and lecturer will conclude with a study that looks at how one can track mental health by following social media profiles.
If you cannot join us on the day, you can still purchase a ticket and be sent the event recording to watch back within three months of the event.

The event will be recorded. A copy of the recording will be sent to delegates to view back for three months after the event. 

If you are not able to attend live, you will still be sent the recording if you have bought a ticket.

This event is taking place online via Zoom. To take part you will need:
