 Dr Anna Kilsby graduated from Sheffield medical School in 1998. She initially intended to be a paediatrician or obstetrician but accidentally became a general psychiatrist. She trained in the Yorkshire area before becoming a CMHT consultant in York in 2012.

She has had a longstanding interest in maternal mental health & the importance of early childhood experiences. In 2017 she was awarded a bursary placement to go on secondment with NHS England and the Royal College of Psychiatrists to train as a specialist in Perinatal mental Health.

This secondment involved training in perinatal mental health, infant development & early childhood experiences. Since then she has set up and still works with the North Yorkshire & York Community Perinatal Mental Health Team. IN her current role she covers a very rural area, a large military base and a number of market towns.

In her own time, she has two teenage boys, tries to enjoy exercising and gardens for relaxation.
