RCPsych in Wales 20th Year Autumn Academic Conference (Sold Out)

Event Information

The Autumn Academic Conference is open to delegates who are living and working from outside of Wales. The presentations have wide application, and sharing perspectives is a real benefit to this partnership.

We are delighted to be hosting this Academic Conference in partnership with both the National Centre for Mental Health, and the Welsh Psychiatric Society, as a continuation of a partnership.

We'd like to extend our thanks to Professor Jon Bisson (NCMH), and Prof Keith Lloyd (WPS) for their support.

We can offer a number of bursaries for this conference. Please complete the linked form, and we'll come back to you promptly.

The Autumn Academic Conference has been scheduled as one of several events to celebrate the 20th year of RCPsych in Wales.

Throughout our 20th year we have committed to providing a unique programme of events, that are as accessible as possible to our members.

Following the success of our bursary programme at the recent International Congress, we are delighted to extend our designated funding to provide further subsidy to reduce the registration fees for this conference.

The conference will hear from:

  • Dr Gathoni Kamau, Powys Teaching Health Board | Neuropsychiatry of Exercise
  • Prof Subodh Dave, Royal College of Psychiatrists | Medical Leadership: An Imperative for Psychiatry and Psychiatrists
  • Dr Guy Northover, Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust | AI in Mental Health care
  • Prof Swaran Singh, University of Warwick | Psychiatry and its new Discontents
  • Prof Alka Ahuja, Royal College of Psychiatrists Wales | 20 Years of RCPsych Wales
  • Nathan Randles, Royal College of Psychiatrists

Techniquest is a unique science discovery centre: a charity that makes exploring the world of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) both fun and educational for schools, families and adult visitors alike.

Techniquest played host to the successful RCPsych Resident Doctor Conference in 2023, and we are delighted to be returning.

We are opening our academic poster competition, and all entries need to be submitted by 28 October.
