South Asian Division,BIPA and IToP webinar: Innovative Capacity Building Strategies in Psychiatric Education

The Royal College of Psychiatrists (RCPsych), UK, and the Indian Teachers of Psychiatry (IToP) share common goals in advancing psychiatric education and optimising training standards to ultimately improve patient care.

With the introduction of Competency-Based Medical Education (CBME) in India, there is growing optimism that the skills of future psychiatrists will align with global standards, comparable to training in the UK. Despite this progress, challenges remain such as limited psychiatry exposure at the undergraduate level and the need for faculty development to enhance teaching skills. These issues highlight the importance of exchanging ideas, best practices, and resources between RCPsych and IToP.
