Spirituality and Psychiatry SIG Autumn Webinar 2026 - Teaching the Essentials of Spirituality; delivering the Core Trainee curriculum

Join us for the annual webinar hosted by the Spirituality Special Interest Group (SPSIG). Building on the roll out of the 2022 Core Psychiatry Training curriculum the SPSIG has an exciting announcement on some work that will help trainers, supervisors and deanery programme directors deliver the aspects of the curriculum that relate to spirituality.

To inspire us in our educational endeavours we have two excellent speakers and a powerful video from our lived experience representative on the SPSIG committee.

Prof Patrica Casey and Prof Warren Kinghorn are not only well published in the area of spirituality in psychiatry, but they also have experience of teaching it and have worked with trainees in various settings. They will share their wisdom on some essential elements of spirituality in psychiatry that we should share with our trainees – and how and why to talk about it.

Jo Barber is our patient representative on the SPSIG executive committee. She has been very generous in sharing her story – one that illustrates the vital importance of this topic to all psychiatry. I know it will motivate you to develop your own practice and to enthuse your colleagues as well.
