Cancellation policy for RCPsych events

The Royal College of Psychiatrists has absolute discretion in the admission of participants and reserves the right to decline any registration. 

If the event is online, please ensure you have read and understood the technology requirements. RCPsych assumes no liability if you cannot connect, view or participate in the event.

Where you need to cancel your booking

All cancellation requests must be received in writing or requested online.

If you need to cancel your booking, we will be able to refund you as follows:

  • 80% up to one month before the first day of the event
  • 50% between one month and up to two weeks before the first day of the event .

We will not be able to offer any refunds where cancellation is received with less than two weeks’ notice.

Substitutions are welcome at any time and do not incur a fee.

Changes of webinar date for Section 12 or Approved Clinician courses incur a 20% administration fee.

Outstanding payments

All event registration fees must be paid before you are admitted to an event.

If you have a payment outstanding two weeks prior to an event, your registration will be cancelled but can be reinstated once payment is received.

Some events may allow you to generate an invoice or payment link for your employer or an organisation pay for your event registration on your behalf. If you have opted to have someone else pay for your event registration, you need to ensure that payment is made prior to the event. RCPsych are not responsible for chasing payments on your behalf.

If your registration is at a rate which changes closer to the date of the event, you have a week following the date of the rate change to make payment. If payment is not made by this time, the rate at the time of payment will apply.

Where RCPsych cancels or amends an event

RCPsych reserves the right to amend the programme or cancel an event and we cannot guarantee the presence of any advertised speakers.

If an event has to be cancelled or rescheduled we will contact you as soon as possible to notify you of the change. You will be offered an alternative or a full refund.

We cannot reimburse travel, accommodation or other costs related to the event.

RCPsych assumes no liability if an event is cancelled or rescheduled resulting from fire, strike, terrorism, industrial action, pandemic, extreme weather or any cause beyond our control.
