International membership
The Quality Network for Prison Mental Health Services (QNPMHS) is excited to announce a new International Membership offer!
We will be piloting the QNPMHS International Membership 2025, with hopes to continue to expand the membership and develop an international learning community where challenges can be shared, and ideas and good practice can be utilised to improve services.
Members will engage in a ‘virtual visit’ focused on open-discussion, as opposed to a standards-focused review, with a peer-review team made up of another international service plus UK/Ireland-based peers.
If you are interested in signing up as an international member, or are working within a service based in the UK or Ireland and would like to get involved as an online peer-reviewer, please follow the process below:
Register your interest in membership
If you would like to register your interest in membership, please use this form. You can also find our Sixth Edition standards (PDF) and the QNPMHS International Membership Benefits poster attached. Please share this widely within your networks.
Become a peer reviewer
We’re also seeking peer reviewers for this initiative. As a peer reviewer, you can earn CPD points, network internationally, and contribute to promoting quality in prison mental health services globally. To register, please complete this form.
The cost of membership will be £1,600 per year.
Why join?
- Broad expertise: a wide range of stakeholders are involved, including staff from all professional backgrounds, service users and their carers and partner organisations.
- Development support: services are supported to identify and address areas for improvement.
- Active ongoing network support: members are supported to share best practice, seek advice and pool learning through a regular newsletter, email discussion group, annual conference and publication of resources on a members-only website.
- Sharing good practice: services are engaged with a network of peers, enabling sharing of good practice and providing a forum for advice and information sharing.
- Personal development: individuals receive training and are able to improve their professional practice.
- Spread of learning within the organisation: learning and innovations arising from the process are often spread beyond the participating service to other services within the organisation.
- Benchmarking and trend analysis: we produce an annual national report enabling services to benchmark their own performance against other services, and identifying trends in service provision.
