CAPSS reporting process

To join CAPSS and report cases, please complete the brief joining form by clicking the link below. Once completed, a member of the CAPSS Project Team will be in touch as soon as possible with further information.

Please note that registration is open to consultant psychiatrists only.

Through a process of active surveillance, CAPSS supports the epidemiological study of rare mental health disorders and clinical events amongst children and adolescents across the UK and Ireland. Participating members will receive a monthly e-Card to confirm whether or not a case has been seen of the rare disorder or event currently being studied by researchers. If a case is reported we will share your contact details with the investigating team to follow-up with a short questionnaire.

If eligible, consultants registering their interest will be added to the CAPSS mailing list, and will receive the next available e-Card, which is sent on the 1st of every month. An e-Card will take about 90 seconds to complete. One 'reminder' email will be sent two weeks later, should the consultant miss an opportunity to report for a month.

You can opt out of CAPSS at any point by emailing us.

If you have any further questions about the CAPSS reporting process, please email CAPSS@rcpsych.ac.uk.

What does completing an e-Card look like?
