World Psychiatric Association Elections
We are inviting requests for support from members who wish to stand for election to the WPA.
WPA vacancies
The World Psychiatric Association (WPA) is now accepting nominations for the 2026 elections.
Positions open for nomination include:
- President-elect
- Secretary General
- Secretary for Finances and Fundraising
- 18 Zonal Representatives
Please consult the WPA website to find out the election process and to see the job descriptions for the vacant roles.
Seeking College support
As the UK member of the WPA, the College may support candidates applying for these roles. The College’s nomination committee will review submissions and determine which applicant(s) to recommend to the WPA Nominations Committee. Final candidate selection will be confirmed by the WPA ahead of the General Assembly in Stockholm, Sweden, in September 2026.
The RCPsych can only support applications for the Zone 6 Zonal Representative (Northern Europe) position and will not consider applications for candidates standing for other zones.
