The Royal College of Psychiatrists Wales are thrilled to announce the National Young Person's Mental Health Research Award for 2025/26, an exciting opportunity for young people who have an interest in Psychiatry and mental health. We are inviting young people from across Wales to take part.

The award is open to year 10 to year 13 students from all Schools across Wales. There is no limit to the number of entries from each School with entries being open to individual or group projects of up to 5 students.

This initiative is designed to encourage young people to undertake and submit research focusing on current mental health issues, and gives students the chance to develop valuable skills, and contribute to improving wellbeing.

The winner will be selected based upon the originality of their research and the quality of their project presentation. Last years winner was Jess Groves from St Brigid's School in Denbigh, her research focused upon social media and adolescent mental health.
