Next week we'll welcome the URDD National Eisteddfod that'll take place in Llandovery from 29 May until 3 June.
The Eisteddfod is the annual Welsh language youth festival of literature, music and performing arts organised by Urdd Gobaith Cymru.
RCPsych in Wales is delighted to continue our partnership with the URDD and their National Eisteddfod. This year we'll be supporting the introduction of a new wellbeing zone on the Maes, named Nant Caredig.
Announced during Mental Health Awareness Week, the URDD shared details of what will happen in the wellbeing zone.
The Yurt in Nant Caredig will offer a quiet space for neurodiverse individuals or anyone else who needs a quiet space to relax, away from the Maes' hustle and bustle. During the week, there will be wellbeing workshops such as holistic activities and yoga happening in the Yurt.
Ollie John, Manager of the Royal College of Psychiatrists Wales said:
"This years event follows the recent peace and goodwill message from the URDD, that focussed on anti-racism. We really value our partnership with the URDD, and the wonderful work that they do.
"I hope that all attendees have a fantastic time in Llandovery, and also take the opportunity to visit Nant Caredig."
We are also grateful for the support of Dr Rhys Bevan Jones, who will be showcasing his art work, whilst also supporting a panel discussion with the mental health charity Meddwl.
We'll be sharing updates, stories and photos on social media, and encourage all members to learn more about the work of the URDD and enjoy this year's celebrations.
