The call for submissions for the 2027 International Congress is now open, and we want to hear from you.

Whether you're showcasing innovative research, sharing practical clinical insights, exploring developments in education and training, or highlighting lived experience perspectives, this is your opportunity to contribute to the College’s flagship event!

Each year, the International Congress brings together mental health professionals from across the UK and around the world to learn, connect and discuss the latest developments in psychiatry. The programme is shaped by you, and we are seeking high-quality, thought-provoking symposium proposals that inspire discussion and support excellent patient care. 

Successful sessions are relevant, innovative and impactful. We are particularly keen to receive proposals that reflect a diverse range of perspectives, including international voices, people with lived experience, psychiatrists at different career stages, and colleagues from different specialties and institutions. We also encourage submissions that address health inequalities, emerging evidence, and areas that may be underrepresented within psychiatric research and practice. 

Sessions within the main programme are 75 minutes long and typically feature three speakers and a chair. Proposals can be submitted across a range of streams, including clinical practice, new science, education and training, leadership and management, policy and media, psychopharmacology, quality improvement and career development. 

Competition for programme places is strong, with around 250 submissions received each year for approximately 60 to 65 available sessions. We therefore encourage potential submitters to review the guidance carefully and ensure their proposal clearly demonstrates its relevance, educational value and contribution to the Congress programme.  

Submit your proposal via Oxford Abstracts by midnight (BST) on Sunday 25 October.
