Royal College of Psychiatrists appoints Deputy Editor of Good Morning Britain as new director

The Royal College of Psychiatrists has appointed Deputy Editor of Good Morning Britain Corinne Bishop as its next Director of Strategic Communications.

Corinne, who was previously Head of Features at Good Morning Britain, has had an impressive career across a number of years in broadcast journalism, running award-winning campaigns and securing national exclusives.

In a previous role, she was also Head of Entertainment for ITV Breakfast.

Corinne will be the long-term replacement for Kim Catcheside, who retired as Director of Strategic Communications at the end of December.

Across a 30-year career in TV, Corinne directed documentaries for the BBC, edited ITV’s Entertainment Today, led on various national campaigns including on autism, food poverty and an award-winning loneliness campaign. She has been Deputy Editor of Good Morning Britain for the last six years.

Corinne said:

As Director of Strategic Communications, Corinne will ensure that the College is the voice for psychiatry, mental health services and people with a mental illness across the UK.

Taking up her new role on 3 May, Corinne will lead the College’s work on policy and campaigns, external affairs, publishing and digital.
