Accreditation for Community Mental Health Services (ACOMHS) has published its first national report.

The thematic report collates data from 32 member services who completed their first accreditation cycle between 2016 and 2021. It highlights some of the most commonly unmet ACOMHS standards, exploring why these are often unmet at the point of peer review and contains recommendations to meet these standards and improve practice in these areas.

Patient and carer representatives and members contributions are highlighted throughout the report and form the basis of the recommendations and suggestions for good practice.

The ACOMHS network engages staff in a comprehensive process of review recognising good practice and high-quality care. Teams receive support to identify and address areas for improvement. Accreditation assures staff, patients and carers, commissioners, and regulators of the quality of the service being provided.
