Paper B: arrangements following the 12 February exam
On 12 February 2026 there was a technical error in the 2026-1 Paper B exam which prevented candidates from ‘flagging for review’ several questions and revisiting them at the end of the exam.
Our provider has conducted a full investigation and has confirmed that the root cause has been identified and fixed, with strengthened quality assurance procedures in place to prevent a recurrence.
We recognise the uncertainty and frustration this incident caused and remain committed to supporting all affected candidates.
To ensure fairness, an additional sitting of Paper B has been arranged for candidates who have been unsuccessful in the exam.
Results for the Paper B 2026-1 exam will now be released slightly earlier than planned, on 17 March, and the resit exam will take place on 30 March.
Candidates may book the resit before receiving their original result and may also apply for the Paper B 2026-2 exam on 19 May.
Candidates who are unsuccessful in the resit can still sit the May exam, and those unable to take either the March or May exams will have their exam fee refunded. All impacted candidates will receive a free resit or refund of their exam fee.
