Dr Fiona Shaw

I applied for the PRDC as I want to ensure that psychiatry training is as good as it can possibly be, to ensure that we recruit and retain the very best doctors to look after our amazing patients and families. 

I am training in CAMHS and have particular interest in the impact of early life care disruptions and how we can effectively care for children and young people with complex interpersonal difficulties as well as acute mental health presentations.

I want to ensure we are supporting the wellbeing of all resident doctors, to reduce stress and burnout, and work on multiple training fronts including exams and meeting psychotherapy competencies, as well as training bottlenecks, to enable colleagues to progress through training to ensure an adequately staffed and resourced workforce.

I love hiking and gardening, but spend most of my free time playing with my toddler!
