are effectively represented. As an international medical graduate from Bangladesh, I also bring a perspective that can help promote equality, diversity, and inclusion within training. I am keen to support an environment where all resident doctors feel heard, valued, and able to access opportunities fairly, regardless of their background.
Key issues I would like to engage with include promoting a better work-life balance for resident doctors, improving rota systems, and ensuring adequate protected time for training activities so resident doctors can engage in projects and focus on portfolio development. I am also keen to strengthen networking between resident doctors, as there is currently limited opportunity to connect across regions and share experiences, which could improve both support and collaboration.
As a CT1 resident doctor, I am keen to gain broad experience across different areas of psychiatry before deciding on a subspecialty. What inspires me about psychiatry is the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in patients' lives through compassionate, holistic care. My aspiration is to become a skilled and well-rounded psychiatrist, while also contributing to service improvement, resident doctor representation, and an inclusive training environment.
