Event Information
Overview and learning objectives
We are pleased to welcome you to the Faculty of Eating Disorders Spring Conference 2026: Empowering Clinicians in the Field of Eating Disorders. This meeting will provide up-to-date information on established and novel treatments for eating disorders including Mentalization-Based Therapy (MBT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy for Eating Disorders (CBT-E), and psychedelic treatment with ketamine. A special focus will be on the modernisation of medical education in eating disorders.
We will have an opening message from Dr Lade Smith, President of the RCPsych and a keynote address from Dr Adrian James, NHS-E national medical director for mental health, who will share with us the DHSC plan of Severe Mental Illness Modern Service Frame Work and Eating Disorders.
Everybody should feel invited: Psychiatrists, other specialists working in multidisciplinary teams, researchers, people with lived experience, their families and friends, and everybody who is interested in the latest developments in the field.
Learning Objectives:
- To enhance knowledge and skills in evidence based care in MBT, CBT-E, and Ketamine based treatment in ED
- Increase awareness about training medical students, trainees and psychiatrists in eating disorders
- To understand how a liaison psychiatry department can help improve the care for patients with eating disorders.

If you are not a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, you will pay the Non-member rate, unless you are an Allied Health Professional, Nurse, Patient or Carer.
To purchase a medical student or foundation doctor ticket, you will first need to register as an associate of the College, for free, here.

This event will be taking place online via EventsAir.
Attendees will need access to a PC/laptop and a reliable network connection in order to participate. We recommend the use of Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge as compatible browsers.
Joining the event
Registered participants will receive a link to join the conference in their joining instructions. You will have one unique link to access the whole day's sessions.
Joining instructions will be sent out the day before the conference.
On-demand access
All registered delegates will receive access to the conference recordings for 12 weeks.
You do not need to attend live to receive on-demand access, however you must be registered before the event takes place.
