SW CRD1 Welcome Event 2026

The South West Division of the Royal College of Psychiatrists is pleased to invite you to our regional CRD1 Welcome Event. This is a 1.5-hour virtual event that will complement the national RCPsych Welcome Event and aims to introduce newly appointed core residents to the South West Division and advise on how to get the most out of training in the south west.

There will be a range of speakers along with our divisional Psychiatric Resident Doctor Representatives, Dr Natasha Hobbs-Lakin, Dr Thomas Hodgson and Dr Jonathan Gibb. There will also be time for questions related to training in the south west.

The programme and speaker profiles will be available shortly.

This is a free, UK-focused event that is aimed at new CRD1s based in the south west of England.  While core residents located in neighbouring divisions would be welcome to attend, please be aware that this is a regionally focused event and would not be suitable for consultants or members working abroad.

• Participants will be able view a video of each speaker alongside any slides.
• Participants may also pose questions, where the programme allows, and some speakers may use polling or other interactive features. 
• The event will not be recorded.
