Net Zero Mental Health Care Report launch event
We will be launching the upcoming Net Zero Mental Health Report in November.
This report has been produced by the Royal College of Psychiatrists in collaboration with NHS England. It will support mental health providers to meet their net zero targets and will include recommendations to deliver greener, more sustainable or net zero mental health care.

Why is it important?
Making real advances towards net zero mental health care requires floor to Board leadership.
Our aim through this launch event is to start to cultivate a network and collaborative learning environment for those who have a significant role in driving sustainability and Net Zero efforts within NHS Trusts in England.
The event will provide opportunities to consider how you can implement the report recommendations and lead the required changes within your organisation.
Following the event, we will be hosting a series of webinars for clinical staff, disseminating training videos and launching an online learning platform. We hope that this will provide a stepping stone towards crucial efforts to drive net zero within the NHS’ mental health services.
Who should attend?
This event would be suited to senior leaders within the NHS such as CEOs and Medical Directors as well as those who have a lead role in sustainability and reducing carbon such as the Green Plan lead, environmental officer, or Trust clinical lead for sustainability.

Programme
This one-day event will focus on:
- launching the report recommendations that providers can utilise to meet the NHS net zero targets
- developing realistic and measurable actions for tangible changes you can make in your organisation
- showcasing examples of initiatives that have been introduced in other services to reduce carbon
- providing a space for networking and sharing good practice with other individuals who have a stake in achieving Net Zero.
