National Autism Training Programme for Psychiatrists (NATPP) Mentor

As a NATPP Mentor, you will work closely with appointed psychiatrists undertaking the National Autism Training Programme credential, providing guidance, support and professional challenge throughout their learning journey.

Through case-based discussions and quarterly mentoring sessions, you will help delegates reflect on their practice, develop their knowledge and skills in autism, and achieve their learning objectives.

At the end of the credential mentors will be required to complete a mentor feedback report and provide a recommendation regarding the delegate's outcome.

Key responsibilities

As a mentor, you will be required to:

• work with individual doctors to develop and facilitate a PDP that addresses their specific educational needs
• meet with your appointed delegate at least for an hour each quarter, this can be virtually or in person
• act as a resource for information and guidance for your delegate
• keep records of your mentoring sessions to be demonstrated in your delegate's portfolio.

• active involvement in education, training and professional development
• experience of leadership, mentorship or supporting workforce development
• a passion for improving outcomes for autistic people through high-quality clinical practice
• a commitment to the values, standards and objectives of the College.
