RCPsych 2019 ceremony for newly elected Fellows

25 April 2019

Yesterday, 24 April, the Royal College of Psychiatrists hosted the annual ceremony for the newly elected Fellows.

The event included a presentation ceremony with our President Prof Wendy Burn and comments by our CEO Paul Rees. All 60 guests, including the 27 new Fellows, then indulged in a dinner followed by speeches.

Professor Wendy Burn, President of the Royal College of Psychiatrists commented:

“I was delighted to be at the recent New Fellows Ceremony held at the College. It was a magical event. We heard about each Fellow and the amazing things they had done. Then we all sat down to dinner together and enjoyed interesting conversations and wonderful food from the College catering team.”

We are always looking for new fellows at the Royal College of Psychiatrists, apply to become a fellow.

A comment from one of our new Fellows:

“Seeing through fellowship was for me partly to do with re-connecting to the College. The fellowship ceremony, held as it was at the College, definitely added to this. The ceremony itself struck just the right tone in terms of celebration and intimacy. Being able to celebrate at dinner with my partner was very special. Thank you.”
