Celebrating specialist registration

Over the past five years, the College has held ceremonies to recognise those psychiatrists who achieve specialist registration through Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) and Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR).

As not all CESR doctors have membership at the College, this can be their only opportunity to attend a College Ceremony and celebrate professional accreditation.

Dr Ugo Chinwuba, who attended the autumn 2024 ceremony, said attending the ceremony was unforgettable:

“My Specialty is Old Age Psychiatry and I completed CESR. The experience of the ceremony was something I will never forget.

“It marked an important end to the work I put in all through the period I was going through the CESR process. It also honours the important beginning to my consultant career. I will cherish that day forever.

“Celebrating Specialist Registration is important to me as it meant a kind of comfort for the work I believe I have put into the process.

“It also honours that important transformation for me, and on reflection, I believe it is important to celebrate life’s important milestone as this is one for me.”
