WMHSIG annual conference 2024

Event Information

In psychiatry, we are aware of the mind and body relationship.  We know that physical and emotional harm have significant effects on mental health and physical health, which is particularly relevant to women.

Join WMSHIG at our fascinating and topical annual conference with the theme, “Women’s bodies: Harm and healing”.  We have speakers on chronic pain and psychosexual disorders, the neurobiology of yoga, addressing VAWG globally including pornography and FGM, benefits and harms of sport, visual art and spoken word for recovery, birth trauma and pelvic floor recovery and comedy.

The conference is open to all and will be of interest to those who wish to learn more or to join the discussion about the mind and body, the harms to women and girls from violence, and recovery from trauma through art, sport, connection and humour.

View the full programme here.

We would now like to invite you to submit an abstract for poster presentation at the WMHSIG annual conference.

This year’s conference theme is Women’s bodies: Harm and healing but your abstract can cover anything relating to women’s mental health more generally.

The deadline for submissions is 12.00pm on Friday 18 October (we are unable to accept late submissions).

Don’t miss the chance to share your research and build professional networks, submit your abstract today!
