National ECT Training Day 2026

Event Information

The National ECT Training Day 2026 is primarily aimed at Resident Doctors, Medical Students and Foundation Doctors from all psychiatric subspecialities, who wish to enhance their working knowledge of electroconvulsive therapy (ECT). Although aimed at doctors in particular grades, all are welcome and will find it beneficial to attend the event. 

We are delighted to announce the 2026 event programme.

Learning Objectives: 

  • Understand the evidence for the beneficial and adverse effects of ECT in various mental disorders. 
  • Become aware of the assessments and monitoring required for patients receiving ECT. 
  • Gain an understanding of the legal framework relevant to ECT practice. 
  • Become familiar with patient perspectives on ECT. 
  • Learn from discussion of complex presentations that might require ECT.  




    This event will be taking place online via a platform called EventsAir. Registered participants will receive their link to join the conference in their joining instructions. Joining instructions will be sent out in the days before the event is due to take place. 

    To successfully join the event online, you will need:

    • a PC, laptop, tablet or phone
    • Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge are recommended browsers.
    When you join the conference online, you will be able to:

    • view a video of the speaker alongside any slides
    • ask your questions to the speakers and chat with other delegates via the discussion forum.
