Event Information
The National ECT Training Day 2026 is primarily aimed at Resident Doctors in core training from all psychiatric subspecialties, who wish to enhance their working knowledge of electroconvulsive therapy (ECT). Foundation doctors, medical students and more senior psychiatrists are also welcome to attend.
Although the next planned Training Day, in Spring 2027, will be preferentially aimed at Consultants, Higher Specialty Trainees and SAS psychiatrists.
We are delighted to announce the 2026 event programme.
- Understand the evidence for the beneficial and adverse effects of ECT in various mental disorders.
- Become aware of the assessments and monitoring required for patients receiving ECT.
- Gain an understanding of the legal framework relevant to ECT practice.
- Become familiar with patient perspectives on ECT.
- Learn from discussion of complex presentations that might require ECT.
This event will be taking place online via a platform called EventsAir. Registered participants will receive their link to join the conference in their joining instructions. Joining instructions will be sent out in the days before the event is due to take place.
To successfully join the event online, you will need:
