    RCPsych ePortfolio transition update

Thank you for your continued support, patience and engagement as we transition to the new FourteenFish ePortfolio platform.

We appreciate the commitment and collaboration shown across the psychiatry training community as we work through this significant change.

    Migration update

The migration programme continues to make excellent progress. Thousands of records are being transferred to the new platform, and we are pleased with the progress achieved so far.

Migration is being carried out in carefully planned phases to ensure continuity and minimise disruption. Further cohorts will continue to migrate over the coming months as we move towards completing the transition before August 2027.

Where migration depends on the completion of outstanding training processes, including ARCP release by the Deanery and acknowledgement by the resident doctor, the timing of individual migration may be affected. Users will be notified via email directly before their migration begins and will also see notifications within Portfolio Online when their account is scheduled to migrate.

The process of saving and transferring data from Portfolio Online to FourteenFish takes approximately two weeks. The next migration window will commence in November as we continue preparations for the February rotation.

    Training and guidance

We've published a range of support materials and guidance resources to help users become familiar with the platform.

    Platform enhancements

As platform usage increases, we continue to review feedback and work closely with the FourteenFish development team to improve the overall user experience.

We remain committed to making the platform as intuitive and efficient as possible and greatly appreciate your continued patience while these enhancements are implemented.

    Important reminders

    Linking with supervisors

Users must complete their initial ePortfolio setup before supervisor links can be established within FourteenFish. This includes ensuring that the correct training programme, review period and curriculum have been selected.

    Forensic psychiatrists

Forensic and Core Resident Doctors and supervisors in secure settings without access to their mobile phones are able to access the Fourteen Fish ePortfolio via an online app authenticator. Those psychiatrists who are able to access their mobile phone/device to access the ePortfolio can use the two-factor authentication that sends a code to your phone.

We are working with forensic psychiatrists and Trusts to support the migration of those in secure settings where mobile phones/devices are not allowed on site.

    Portfolio Online

Unless you have been notified that your account is migrating, please continue to use Portfolio Online as normal for all training activities, assessments and learning logs. This phased approach has been carefully designed to ensure continuity throughout the transition and to minimise disruption to training.

    Getting support

Thank you again for your ongoing support as we continue this transition. Your feedback, patience and collaboration are helping us improve the experience for everyone using the new Fourteen Fish ePortfolio platform.

If you are experiencing any issues accessing your account, or are unsure of your account status, please contact eportfoliotransition@rcpsych.ac.uk and a member of the team will be happy to help.

If you require a new account and have not previously been registered on either Portfolio Online or FourteenFish, please contact the team so that we can guide you through the setup process.
