Aims and outcomes
Aims:
- To provide an overview of the principles of genomics relevant to psychiatry
- To introduce the genetic landscape of psychiatric disorders and its complexity
- To describe the role of the psychiatrist and other mental health professionals in genomic medicine including genetic testing
Outcomes:
After the webinar attendees will be able to:
- Explain the principles of genomics and the genetic landscape of psychiatric disorders
- Identify when genetic testing is appropriate and know how to arrange this or who to approach for advice
- Recognise that some genetic conditions are associated with increased risk of neurodevelopmental disorders and psychopathology
- Know where to find more learning resources on genomics relevant to their practice

This webinar is taking place online via Zoom. To take part you will need:

The webinar will be recorded, and the recording will be made available within a week of the webinar taking place. Registered attendees will have access to the recording for two months after the webinar date.
We do encourage attendees to attend live on the day of the webinar, should they wish to post questions for the speakers to address via the live Q&A.
