RCPsych in Scotland Child and Adolescent and Medical Psychotherapy Joint Faculty Conference 2026

This year, the Scottish Child and Adolescent and Medical Psychotherapy Faculties will come together for a joint annual conference, with the principal aim of exploring complex trauma through developmental and relational perspectives. The programme will consider how developmental trauma can impact relationships, emotional development, and identity across the lifespan, and how child and adolescent psychiatry and psychotherapy can work together to support safety, relational repair, and recovery in people attending our services.

Through contributions from speakers across disciplines, the conference will also reflect on how trauma is held within systems, while creating space for hope, resilience, and new ways of working together. We invite attendees from across both faculties and beyond, for what should make for a very exciting and thought-provoking conference.

Poster presentations

We are delighted to return to the Apex Grassmarket Hotel in Edinburgh for this joint faculty conference. Located centrally in the Grassmarket area, only a ten-minute walk from Waverley Station or a five-minute walk from George IV Bridge, the conference will be held in the Apex Suite with lunch served in the Metro restaurant.

There is on-site car parking available for guests and visitors, available on a first-come, first-served basis. Parking is charged at £20.00 for 4-24 hours. Charged parking is also available in the surrounding area.
