Eleanor O'Sullivan
Lived Experience Research Assistant
Eleanor joined the NCCMH as a lived experience research assistant in June 2025. She completed a BA (Hons) in Sociology with a specialism in social and political thought at the University of Warwick. Her final-year dissertation examined cultural narratives around self-care within mental health care.
Prior to joining the NCCMH, she worked in government on a global strategy programme and went on to pursue her passion for addressing social inequalities at a women’s charity, researching the gender pay gap and discrimination of young women in the workplace. She also worked with a disability rights collective, developing an inclusive Unconference and delivering research into co-production methodologies and the efficacy of the Disability Confident Scheme.
Eleanor’s lived experience drives her passion for the use of co-production and centring the voices of service-users and carers in mental health care. She is interested in deconstructing harmful power dynamics, and strives to use her position to facilitate and champion those who are missing from the discussion.
