RCPsych Perinatal Psychiatry Masterclass Series
RCPsych Perinatal Psychiatry Masterclass Series is an NHS England Workforce, Training and Education(NHSE) - funded series of Masterclass Programmes for new consultants, senior trainees and SAS psychiatrists.
We are thrilled to announce that the RCPsych Perinatal Psychiatry Masterclass Series is reopening and will run from Autumn 2024 to Summer 2025.
This Masterclass Series is an NHS England Workforce, Training and Education (NHSE) - funded series of masterclass programmes for new consultants, senior trainees and SAS psychiatrists in perinatal psychiatry. With places funded by NHSE for psychiatrists working in the NHS in England, additional self-funded places will be available for psychiatrists working in the devolved nations and the Republic of Ireland.
Since the pandemic, the programmes have been run online via Zoom. We are delighted that the first day of each of the programmes will now be running face-to-face at the Royal College of Psychiatrists in London and the remainder online via Zoom. We hope that this will enhance networking and peer support opportunities.

The application process is open for our Perinatal Psychiatry Masterclass Programme for Resident Doctors.
There are 25 places for resident doctors (ST4-7) who are in perinatal training posts in NHS perinatal mental health teams in England. Depending on capacity, some places may be available for resident doctors doing special interest sessions. The course is free to attend for these participants, as this initiative is funded by NHSE to contribute to the ongoing development of clinical expertise and provision within PMH services.
There will be an additional eight to ten places in total for resident doctors (ST4-7) in Perinatal Psychiatry who work in the devolved nations (Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland) and the Republic of Ireland. Each of these places will require funding either through personal study budgets or through relevant national training programmes, for the individual participants. Once applications have been received and applicants are deemed to meet the criteria for receiving a place, proof of funding approval will be required to reserve the place on the programme.
