Adopt the guidance and join our network

Sign up to the adopt our Tackling racism in the workplace guidance and its 15 actions, and become part of a supportive network. There is overwhelming evidence that racism is a huge problem within mental health services, with six in ten UK psychiatrists from a minoritised ethnic background saying they’ve experienced racism in the workplace, and BMA and NHS surveys highlighting similar concerns for doctors more broadly and healthcare staff generally.

Our new guidance, case studies and resources will help your organisation tackle racism in the workplace, and your staff know what to do if they want to raise a concern.

Adopting the 15 actions in our guidance will help you tackle racism at a strategic and systemic level in your organisation.

It was developed with the support of medical directors, the NHS Race and Health Observatory and the expertise of a working group consisting of psychiatrists from minoritised ethnic backgrounds across the UK.

Sign up to adopt the guidance and be part of a supportive network: adopt the guidance, implement the actions and receive support including

  • quarterly newsletters showcasing success stories and highlighting ways to overcome challenges
  • access to online events with other organisations who are adopting the guidance like yourselves
  • a special point of contact to ask questions about the guidance and its implementation.
