Dr Anis Ahmed
Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist and Chair of VIPSIG
Dr. Anis Ahmed is a Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist at the Tamarind Centre in Birmingham, where he has been dedicated to managing complex forensic cases in a medium-secure setting for over a decade. He also holds the position of Forensic College Tutor, mentoring and guiding psychiatry trainees as they navigate the specialized field of forensic psychiatry. Additionally, Dr. Ahmed is the Clinical Lead in Psychiatry at Aston Medical School, playing a pivotal role in shaping the medical education of students through clinical placements.
Beyond his clinical and academic contributions, Dr. Ahmed serves as the Chair of the Volunteering and International Psychiatry Special Interest Group (VIPSIG) at the Royal College of Psychiatrists (RCPsych). In this capacity, he advocates for international mental health collaborations and facilitates volunteering opportunities for psychiatrists globally.
