RCPsych Awards 2026
This page covers frequently asked questions about submitting nominations for our annual RCPsych Awards.

Only subscribing College members can submit nominations for the Awards. This means: Members, Fellows, Honorary Fellows, Specialist Associates, Affiliate and Pre-Membership Psychiatric Trainees.

If you're part of a team that has membership of one of our quality networks this wouldn't count, unless you are also a College member of one of the above membership grades.

Student Associates and Foundation Associates aren't eligible to submit nominations.

Eligibility varies across the different categories. Please check the criteria for the category you want to nominate in to see what the rules are for that award.

Self-nominations are not allowed in any of the categories for individuals.

Self-nominations for groups are not allowed in the Patient, Carer or Communicator awards. 

Yes, self-nominations are allowed in all the Psychiatric Team of the Year categories so please do consider nominating the team you work in.
Yes, as long as they're eligible to be nominated in each of the categories, and they haven't previously won any of them.
Not in the same category again, no. But, they can be nominated in a different category if they're eligible for that category.
All Awards nominations are now electronic so you'll need to complete one of our online nomination forms. You can find the link to the relevant form under the category heading on our Awards nomination page.
No, your nomination can only contain what's written on the nomination form and we have strict word limits for each section.

Yes, you can edit your nomination up until the closing date.

You will receive a confirmation email after submitting your nomination which will contain a link to let you edit the nomination.

We'll contact all nominators and nominees/team contacts in the summer to let them know whether or not the entry has been shortlisted. Shortlisted nominees will be invited to the Awards ceremony.
