New cohort of Psych Stars appointed
On 1 September, 25 medical students from across the UK officially began their year as Psych Stars.
The Psych Star scheme has been running since 2019 and offers medical students who are interested in a career in psychiatry the opportunity to develop their knowledge of the specialty and network with peers and senior psychiatrists.
Each Psych Star is assigned a mentor, given access to a wide range of benefits and supported throughout their one-year tenure to explore psychiatry and further develop their interests.
The 2024 cohort, our largest cohort yet, comprises 10 College Psych Stars and 15 Faculty Psych Stars who are linked to one of the College’s faculties. (see table below)
They will meet in person for their first time at the end of September for their induction at the College’s London offices.
They will go one to work on individual and group projects supported by their mentors, have regular catch-up meetings and attend Congress in 2025.
