Dr Angela Carballedo

Dr Angela Carballedo, LMC, FRCPsych, MCPsychI, MD is a Spanish national and a medical graduate of the University of Santiago de Compostela. She completed her subsequent basic and higher specialist training in psychiatry in Ireland and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists and a Member of the College of Psychiatrists of Ireland.
Dr Carballedo is a qualified specialist in Psychiatry of Learning Disability and General Adult Psychiatry, and works as a Consultant Psychiatrist in North Dublin Mental Health Services (Ireland). Dr Carballedo holds the academic positions of Clinical Senior Lecturer of Trinity College Dublin and Honorary Senior Lecturer of the Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland. Dr Carballedo has a strong involvement in medical education, both as a postgraduate training tutor in North Dublin Mental Health Services and as medical examiner for medical students of the Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland.
Dr Carballedo has a keen interest in research, has led a number of research projects and has published over 40 research articles in the area of neuroimaging, mood disorders and restrictive practices in psychiatry. She completed a Medical Doctorate at Trinity College University of Dublin and is a member of the editorial board of BJPsych Advances, Journal of the Royal College of Psychiatrists and of the Irish Journal of Psychological Medicine, Journal of the College of Psychiatrists of Ireland.
Dr Carballedo is the current Chair of the European International Division of the RCPsych, having previously held the Vice-Chair position for a number of years. Dr Carballedo has taken part in the organisation of a number of European events as part of this role.
