International Congress 2022 Bursary Information
The College offers limited awards of complimentary registration or bursaries to the presenters of the top scoring abstract submissions. You can apply for these as part of the abstract submission process as long as the presenting author has met the criteria below.

Medical Student and Foundation Year Doctors Registration Bursary
- This bursary covers the cost of full registration to the Congress for the five top scoring Medical Students and five top scoring foundation Year Doctors who apply
- The abstract must be both submitted and presented by a Medical Student or a Foundation Year Doctor
- It is open Medical Students and Foundation Year doctors only
- Only the presenting author is eligible to apply for free registration
- Free registration is non-transferable
- Applications are limited to one author/application per abstract
- You will not be considered for free registration if you have received and accepted a bursary in the last three years
- Authors cannot apply for free registration if they are already in receipt of another bursary or have their from the RCPsych i.e Pathfinders or Psych Stars
- The bursary covers registration only and does not cover travel or accommodation costs
Division Bursaries
There are a number of bursaries available from the various divisions across the UK. You must be based within the division to be eligible.
The following bursaries are available
West Midlands
- £500
Trent
- 2 x £300
- This bursary is available for medical students and FY doctors only
South Eastern
- £500
- This bursary is available for medical students and trainees only
- You will not be eligible for this bursary if you have received funding elsewhere
South West
- 4 x £500
- These bursaries are available to trainees only
- You will not be eligible for this bursary if you have received funding elsewhere
North West
- 2 x £300
- These bursaries are available to medical students and FY doctors only
- You will not be eligible for this bursary if you have received funding elsewhere
Northern and Yorkshire
- 2 x £300
- This bursary is available for medical students and trainees only
- You will not be eligible for this bursary if you have received funding elsewhere
International Bursaries
There will also be a number of bursaries available for International delegates, through the International divisions.
- You must be a member of the division to be eligible
- You must be an early career psychiatrist
Awards and Prizes
We also have the following prizes available for abstracts presented at Congress.
- Best rapid fire poster presentation
- Best Psychopharmacology poster presentation
- RCPsych Student/Foundation doctor of the year – Student poster prize
- RCPsych Trainee of the year – Junior/Trainee of the poster prize
Please be aware that the following two prizes are only available for those based in the UK
- RCPsych Student/Foundation doctor of the year – Student poster prize
- RCPsych Trainee of the year – Junior/Trainee of the poster prize
