New Equity Champions appointed
Following the first wave of recruitment for our Equity Champions Network, we are pleased to confirm we have appointed to almost half of the 24 UK-wide roles.
Dr Amrit Sachar, Joint Presidential lead for Equity and Equality, said:
“We’ve been so impressed with the calibre, passion and commitment of the individuals who applied and have now been appointed to our Equity Champions Network.
“We’re excited to see how these roles develop and look forward to working with them and across the college, towards our common goal of improving equity in mental health services for patients and our workforce.”
Ruth Adams, Head of Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity (EDI) strategy said:
“Our Equity Champions will work with devolved nations, divisions and faculties to help deliver the College’s Fairness for all strategy, acting as ambassadors to make equity, diversity and inclusion everyone’s business.
“Congratulations and thank you to our new representatives - and also to our previous Equality Champions who supported delivery of the Equality Action Plan and enabled us to deliver on key initiatives such as the Act Against Racism campaign.”

“Our aim is to have representation across all areas, so we are about to begin a second round of recruitment encouraging all members and affiliates as well as exec committee members to apply.
