MRCPsych Standard Setting Panel Deputy Chair

The RCPsych would like to appoint two new Deputy Chairs for the MRCPsych Standard Setting Panel to take up office from as soon as possible following the interview date.
The roles are voluntary, and the appointees should expect, with the agreement of their employer, to spend up to an average of 0.5 p.a./session per week in the role.
The role is responsible for assisting the Standard Setting Panel Chair in all aspects of the standard setting of MRCPsych Theory Examinations, Papers A and Paper B.
The outcomes of each standard setting are reported to the Examinations Committee. The post holder will work closely with the Panel Chair and Psychometric Team to achieve this. There are a total of six theory exams each year.
The MRCPsych Standard Setting Panel currently meets six times a year, following each administration of Paper A and Paper B. The chairing of these meetings is shared between the Standard Setting Panel Chair and Deputies. Additionally, the Panel Chair or a Deputy Chair is also expected to attend the Examinations Committee following each Standard Setting Panel.
The role will appeal to consultant psychiatrists who are current members of the MRCPsych Standard Setting Panels, MRCPsych Question Writing Panels, MRCPsych Quality Assurance Panels or Examinations Committee. The role is not specialty specific. The post holder will have both experience and an interest in assessment processes and a commitment to ensuring our assessment methods meet the highest standards, or who have similar experience in related activity such as undergraduate education.<
