This page is for veterans of the armed forces and their families, and provides information and links to support veterans' mental health.
Veterans in England
It does not matter if you're due to leave the armed forces, just left the armed forces or left many years ago. Op COURAGE are there to help and understand the courage it takes to speak to someone.
The service will arrange for you to have an assessment, to make sure you get the right care and support.
Veterans in Scotland
Veterans First Point (V1P) has been developed by Veterans for Veterans, and is staffed by an alliance of clinicians and Veterans.
The service provided is free at the point of access and provided as part of the NHS.
Just drop into your local centre or give V1P a call if you feel you'd like some help or advice, whatever that may be, and V1P will arrange for a confidential conversation with an allocated peer support worker.
They'll help you develop a personalised plan outlining any therapies or personalised steps needed to help you get back on your feet.
Veterans First Point's website also signposts a range of contacts for Scottish veterans who need emergency help.
Veterans in Wales
Veterans NHS Wales offers a specialised priority service for people who have served in the armed forces at any time in their lives and who are experiencing mental health difficulties specifically related to their military service.
Each Local Health Board (LHB) has appointed an experienced clinician as a Veteran Therapist (VT) with an interest or experience of military (mental) health problems.
Appointments will be arranged as close to the veteran's home as possible in a suitable venue.
Following the assessment the veteran may be offered treatment by the VT or referred on to other NHS teams or departments for further treatment.
The service can't respond to emergency referrals, but signpost an emergency contact, and advise that veterans in crisis should contact their GP or the Out of Hours Service.
Veterans in Northern Ireland
