North West Awards and Chairs Lecture 2023

We look forward to welcoming you to the Awards and Chairs Lecture on 2 November 2023; an event that marks the highest level of achievement in psychiatry within the North West region.

This event highlights those who have put in truly amazing work to support mental health care this past year.

Nominations for the awards are now open, with the nomination forms for each category below:

• Medical Student of the Year
• Foundation Doctor of the Year
• Core Trainee of the Year
• Higher Trainee of the Year
• SAS Doctor of the Year
• Consultant of the Year
• Psychiatric Trainer of the Year
• Service User of the Year
• Carer Contributor of the Year

The deadline for nominations is 1 October 2023. For more information, please follow the 2023 rules for nominations.

Winners will be announced on the evening of the North West Awards Ceremony on 2 November 2023.

We are delighted to announce Dr Lade Smith CBE, the President of the RCPsych will be speaking at the North West Awards 2023.

Lade is a consultant psychiatrist at the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust and an academic at King’s College London.

She is also an RCPsych Presidential Lead for Race and Equality and Clinical and Strategic Director with the College’s National Collaborating Centre for Mental Health (NCCMH).

Parking: There are two parking options for parking nearby to the Hotel:

• Great Northern NCP Car Park, located on Watson Street, Manchester, M3 4EE (a 5-minute walking distance from the hotel): Payment is made directly with the NCP. Height Restriction - 2.1 meters (6 feet 9 inches)

• Q-Parks, First Street Car Park (M15 4FN), which is off Medlock Street (about 10-15 minute walk). Height restriction - 2.3 meters (7ft 5ins).

Train Station: The hotel is located just over 1 km from Manchester Piccadilly, approximately a 20-minute walk.
