The memorial service for Professor Andrew Sims will be taking place on Friday 17 March at 2.30pm at St. George’s Church, Great George Street, Leeds, LS1 3BR (view on map).
Professor Sims’ family would welcome any members of the College who would like to attend.

Professor Andrew Sims passed away at the age of 84 late last year. He was president of the Royal College of Psychiatrists from 1990-1993 and a Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Leeds for over 20 years. Throughout his life he campaigned to improve standards in psychiatry both in the UK and abroad.
Andrew is survived by his wife Ruth as well as their four children and 12 grandchildren. Ruth said he was “full of energy, cheerfulness and compassion” throughout their 58 years of marriage.
