Professor Atif Rahman

Atif Rahman is professor of child psychiatry at the University of Liverpool in the United Kingdom where he leads the global mental health research group. He is a co-founder of the Human Development Research Foundation in Pakistan. He is an expert in developing and evaluating culturally appropriate psychosocial interventions across the life-course that can be delivered by non-specialists health professionals, teachers and parents. He has a particular interest in scale-up of mental health interventions in low and middle-income countries. He works closely with the World Health Organization in evaluating and disseminating psychological interventions globally.
