International Congress 2023 Bursary Information

The College offers limited awards of complimentary registration or bursaries to the presenters of the top scoring abstract submissions. You can apply for these as part of the abstract submission process as long as the presenting author has met the criteria below.

Division Bursaries

There are a number of bursaries available from the various divisions across the UK. You must be based within the division to be eligible.

Top scoring poster(s) in the grades listed below. Applicants needs to be student associates or PMPT members and be a member of the corresponding Division to be eligible: 


Eastern Division 
1 x Medical Student
1 x Trainee 

London Division 
1 x Medical Student
1 x Trainee 

North West Division 
1 x Medical Student/FY1 Doctor 
1 x FY2 Doctor/Trainee

Northern and Yorkshire Division 
1 x Medical Student/FY1 Doctor

South East Division

South West Division

International Bursaries

Top scoring poster from a trainee or early career psychiatrist will be awarded a bursary. Applicants needs to be an international PMPT, MRCPsych or International Associate member of the corresponding international division to be eligible

African Division – 1 bursary 

European Division – 1 bursary 

Middle East Division – 1 bursary 

Pan American Division – 1 bursary 

South Asian Division – 1 bursary 

West Pacific Division – 1 bursary

  • Best rapid fire poster presentation
  • Best Psychopharmacology poster presentation
  • RCPsych Student/Foundation doctor of the year – Student poster prize
  • RCPsych Trainee of the year – Junior/Trainee of the poster prize

  • RCPsych Student/Foundation doctor of the year – Student poster prize
