Overview
This webinar has been designed to improve clinicians’ confidence in prescribing long-acting buprenorphine. Experienced prescribers will outline the background and pharmacology of these formulations of buprenorphine as well as the practicalities of prescribing. It will explore issues in prescribing in prisons and primary care and provide some insight into service users experience and outcomes. Initiation talks will incorporate starting from scratch and from methadone, trouble-shooting and how to incorporate psychosocial interventions with buprenorphine LAI treatment. Participants will also learn about staff mix need to provide a service and where Home Office licences are needed. There will be time for discussion and questions.
