This event is Session 2 only of the ADHD Webinar series.

The webinar will focus on ADHD in the forensic setting.

We are delighted to announce the following speakers for Session 2 of the ADHD webinar series:

Dr Jessica Gibson – Event Chair

Dr Jessica Gibson is a Consultant Psychiatrist and Clinical Lead for the Oxfordshire NHS Adult ADHD Service, which she helped establish in 2021. Prior to this, Dr Gibson had a long-standing interest and practice in ADHD whilst working in AMHTs and in-patient settings for 23 years. She is keen to share her fascination with all things ADHD!

Dr Gibson is involved in a lot of ADHD education locally and regionally. This includes regular training in ADHD diagnosis, comorbidity and treatment to psychiatry trainees, GP registrars, medical students, mental health professionals as well as colleagues in third sector organisation.

She is very interested in research as well and was the Research Psychiatrist for a treatment trial in bipolar disorder for the University of Oxford. Dr Gibson has published in leading journals in the areas of mood disorder and perinatal psychiatry. She is also an examiner for the Royal College of Psychiatrists.

Dr Hasanen Al-TaiarDr Hasanen Al-Taiar – ADHD in a forensic setting

Dr Hasanen Al-Taiar is a consultant forensic psychiatrist and is a senior member of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA). He is a RCPsych CASC examiner. He chairs the England South Section 12 Approvals Panel. He works in a secure unit in Oxford which provides specialist mental health input to forensic inpatients.

He’s a clinical tutor at Oxford University Department of Psychiatry and is an Associate Oxford University Medical Education Fellow. His work has been cited on the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE).

Hasanen is a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists forensic faculty and a medical member of the Mental Health Tribunal service. Hasanen joined the mentoring and coaching group because of his high interest in raising the morale of the medical body and advocate their views in the organisation.

Dr Ulrich Müller-Sedgwick – Management of ADHD in Adults

Dr Ulrich Müller-Sedgwick, MD(Uni Würzburg) PhD(Uni Leipzig) works for the Government of Jersey as consultant psychiatrist and lead clinician for adult neurodevelopmental pathways. From 2017-21 he was the lead clinician for the Barnet Enfield Haringey (BEH) Mental Health NHS Trust Adult ADHD Service in North London, where he continues to hold an honorary consultant position.

From 2003-17 he was based in Cambridge, where he developed the Adult ADHD Service for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust (CPFT) and directed an adult ADHD research group at the Department of Psychiatry, University of Cambridge, where he continues to be affiliated as Visiting Research Fellow. He teaches and lectures at universities and mental health trusts in London, Cambridge and the Channel Islands. He is a founding executive committee member and former president (2019-21) of the UK Adult ADHD Network.

This event is Session 2 only, of a full webinar series on ADHD and mental health.

  • Session 3 – 13 March 2024 – Assessment and treatment of ADHD
  • Session 4 – 23 April 2024 – Comorbidity and differential diagnosis.
