Professor Rob Howard – New investigations and treatments for dementia

Dr Jeremy IsaacsDr Jeremy Isaacs – Functional Cognitive Disorder I am a consultant neurologist at Kingston Hospital and St George’s Hospital, where I am a member of the multi-disciplinary cognitive neurology service. From 2019-2024 I was Clinical Director of the NHS London Dementia Clinical Network where I oversaw a regional quality improvement programme and led the first national memory service audit. In April 2024 I was appointed National Clinical Director for Dementia and Older People’s Mental Health.

I was a member of the RCPsych young onset dementia services working group and the NICE 2018 dementia guideline committee and chaired the NICE self-harm guideline committee.

I am honorary reader in neurology at St George’s, University of London where I co-direct the MSc in Clinical Neuroscience Practice and am director of the Neurosciences Clinical Academic Group.

My research interests are in functional cognitive disorders and in clinical trials in Alzheimer’s disease and vascular dementia.
