South Eastern Division Regional Trainee Awards

Welcome to the South Eastern Regional Awards Page.

The South Eastern Division are excited to hold its first Regional Trainee Awards.   

This will be a free virtual event, held on 9 March 2022 - 7:30pm to 9:00pm to celebrate excellence in trainees and trainers in the South East region and we will be using the event to engage and enthuse local trainees and remind trainees of the function of the SED and how it might support them. Anyone is welcome to attend to celebrate our trainees and hear about innovation and excellence in the region- please sign up for free below.  We are so pleased to announce that the meeting will be opened by the RCPsych Dean - Professor Subodh Dave.

Nominations are now open for the 2022 awards (see categories below). Finalists will be shortlisted using RCPsych national criteria. Relevant and interesting parts of finalists’ applications will be shared.

Award Categories

This award is for a Foundation Doctor who has demonstrated through their clinical performance and practice that they have attained a level of achievement over and above that expected for their years of training, with achievements and experience reflecting a specific interest in psychiatry as a career. This award is open to any qualified doctor in the first five years who is pre-psychiatry training. The person nominated should be resident in the UK, living and/or working within the area of the South Eastern Division.

This award is for psychiatric core trainees (CT1-CT3) who have demonstrated through their clinical performance and practice that they have attained a level of achievement over and above that expected for their grade. The person nominated should be resident in the UK, living or working within the South Eastern Division and should be a member or associate (including PMPT) of the College.

This award is for Higher Trainees (ST4-ST8 and SpR) who have demonstrated through their clinical performance and practice that they have attained a level of achievement over and above that expected for their grade.  The person nominated should be resident in the UK and should be a member or associate of the College.  The person nominated should be resident in the UK, living and/or working within the area of the South Eastern Division.

This category is open to nominations for any psychiatric trainee (CT1-ST8) or foundation doctor who has excelled in supporting other trainee doctors.  The contribution may be at local, regional or national level. This award is only open to individuals. Nominees should be resident in the UK and living or working in the South Eastern Division.

This category is open to nominations for any psychiatric trainee (CT1-ST8) or foundation doctor who has contributed innovatively in addition to their usual clinical role.  The contribution may be at local, regional or national level. This award is only open to individuals. Nominees should be resident in the UK and living or working in the South Eastern Division.

This category is open to nominations for educational supervisors, clinical supervisors, college tutors, rotational training scheme organisers, heads of schools, and any psychiatrists who can demonstrate a significant contribution to the training of trainee psychiatrists, medical undergraduates or medical professionals.  The contribution may be at local, regional or national level. This award is only open to individuals. Nominees should be resident in the UK and living or working in the South Eastern Division.
